2000 - 2001
In its March 15, 2001 issue, the Weal celebrated its 75th anniversary with a special issue. Weal writers and photographers have gone on to work for the Globe and Mail, the Calgary Herald, the Calgary Sun and FFWD Weekly Magazine.
2002 - 2003
Wealin' and Dealin'
The Wealin and Dealin section in the Weal Newspaper allowed students and staff to place classified ads at no charge. People outside the school were charged $21.40 per month to post an ad (Summer 2002, pg 5).
A crossword contest was held in the Weal newspaper. The first student to fill out the crossword and hand it into the SAITSA office won tickets to the movies (9/19/2002, pg 14).
The Weal placed a survey in their newspaper to see what students were interested in (10/10/02).
The Weal hired a part time web master for the online newsroom for the 2003 to 2004 academic year (3/27/03, pg 2).
2004 - 2005
Within the Weal, SAITSA had a column in each issue that was titled “Executive Corner”. This column allowed SAITSA executives to share the dish on campus issues and events (9/23/04, pg 4).
The 2002 to 2003 yearbook was handed out to students in late October (10/21/04, pg 2).
SAITSA’s newspaper and yearbook took home two awards at the Associated Collegiate Press Convention in Nashville, TN. The Weal won 2nd place for best in show and the yearbook won 5th place (11/11/04, pg 3).
A Weal reader survey was included in the March 17th issue (3/17/05, pg 11).
2005 - 2006
Volunteer of the Week
A Volunteer of the Week section was included in the Weal. In addition, SAITSA had its own page where events and news were posted (3/9/06, pg 2).
2006 - 2007
The SAITSA executives received a section in the Weal, titled “Executive Corner” (9/21/06, pg2).
